Twenty years on the front line of regulated-system security

I’ve spent my career securing the systems hospitals can’t afford to lose. At GE HealthCare, I served as a Cybersecurity SME on the CSO Quick-Response Team: leading incident response for hospital system outages, performing vulnerability assessments and root cause analysis, and keeping FDA-regulated medical imaging and cardiovascular IT systems compliant with HIPAA across on-premises and AWS environments.

Before that: global infrastructure security at Aon across 16 countries, hospital network administration at CGH Medical Center, and service as an Information Systems Security Officer with the U.S. Army’s 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), protecting classified information systems.

Now I’m applying that operational depth to the newest attack surface: AI. I completed the AI Security Professional course from Practical DevSecOps (LLM security, adversarial machine learning, MITRE ATLAS, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework), and I’m completing the CAISP and CCSP certifications in 2026, alongside a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management (University of Illinois Springfield, 2025) and a CISSP.

What I bring that most AI security professionals can’t: I know what HIPAA, SOX, and FDA oversight look like in production, at 2 a.m., with a hospital on the phone. As organizations deploy AI into those same regulated environments, they need people who understand both the frameworks and the operational reality.

I am a seeker of truth. That motto has guided twenty years in security, and it explains why compliance is my next chapter. In an incident, the truth lives in the logs, not in whoever argues loudest, and my job has always been to find it, document it, and get every team pointed at the fix instead of at each other. Compliance and audit work is that same discipline made into a profession. An assessment done right tells an organization the truth about itself, with evidence behind every finding. That is the standard I trained under in FDA-regulated healthcare, the standard I hold my own work to, and the standard I bring to every engagement.
